Thanks for keeping the Dansette name alive!

Comments: I thought I was MAD on 1960s records and record players:)) but this is just ridiculous:))) I have a 1960s RGD record player which still blasts out, and also a ITT KP1000... I will never part with them.
It's Great that you are just as crazy about this wonderful machine as I was, and still am:)) But I couldn't have all those record players around the house like you have:))) who does your cleaning??:))

Comments: Once more a pleasurable few minutes looking through your collection of record players - is there any other site which has received over 250 million visits?! Incredible!

Once owned a Dansette Junior, bought new in 1957 for £12. GOD, I wish I had it now. First record played on it was Haley's 'Rock Around The Clock'.

I am now regretting not spending £48 (best price)on a Dansette player on sale just a couple of days ago at Swinderby antiques fair - if it's still there at the next fair I will snap it up. This machine sounded great. Cheers.

Comments: Great website brings back alot of memories as a kid many a dansette taken apart for repair which started me in electronics repairs. i still use valves in my hifi amps still have el84 ul84 uy85 valves also ucl83 original mullards all still good emmission alot taken from scrapped record players tested ok on valve tester. as i sometimes get asked to repair the odd valve record player the only bad side is alot of these dansette record players used a ul84 power pentode valve and a uy85 half wave rectifier valve so there was no mains transformer which if you wasn,t carfull to make sure the metalwork chassie was connected to the neutral side of the mains if not you could get a nasty belt from the mains lesson learnt early on. in the 60,s alot of houses had 2 pin sockets so the plug could be plugged in either way round hence the belt of a shock if you did. I would love to come down and look through your collection sometime. David Douglas

Great site. Nice to see so many old fave's. I have a Philips Disc Jockey Major that I picked up on E-Bay. The old singles sound just right on it. I suppose it's because that's the sound we remember from our youth and it takes us back. Apache on a green Columbia lable, heaven. Keep up the good work!

Comments: Seeing your collection of record players reminded me that when I was a small boy, my mother gave me a mono record player. It was a Dansette Bermuda and it sounded wonderful. As an adult i've spent thousands on hifi trying to recreate that same sound. There's no doubt those old record players we all took for granted were very special indeed. Thanks.
