Fields and woods where I enjoyed playing with my mates no longer exist, replaced now by houses; the old shops now much different but of course nothing can change the nooks and crannies and the river I knew. Comments: For some years I have been interested in my maternal grandfather William John Crabb and very recently I have received information that he was born in Yealmpton, Devon in 1893 and died in Toowoomba Qld Aust in 1973. I was excited to see where he was born, He and his two brothers Charles and Edward came to Australia around 1909. I do not have any other information about him and thought your photographs of the area were impressive. I will continue my search and one day plan to visit your area.
