Comments: Several years ago I acquired a Sanyo Beta hi-fi VCR 7200 on e-bay (my old Toshiba Beta VCR had died and I wanted to convert my old tapes) and had a local shop replace belts, clean and align it. It worked well but I became too busy with work to review my tapes and convert them. Now, 8 years later I am retired with lots of time but the VCR 7200 was sick. I bought cleaning supplies and a belt kit from a US company and tore into the machine with some trepidation. Then I stumbled on your site. How helpful! I was able to identify parts, disassemble sections of the drive, replace a broken belt as well as three others and two idlers and get it all back together again. Comments: Colin did a great job with my minidv tapes, one of them got chewed up by the dogs and I thought it was lost forever. But Colin managed to recover loads of the footage which was very precious to me and my family and I am so happy with the results. The whole process was very quick, I sent my tapes off and I got my dvd back after 3-5 days. Thanks again Colin! The DVD's work fine, as Colin told me the quality would not be brilliant as the tape from 1980 had some deterioration but it was so worth it to see loved ones again.
