Against 'disembarkation' I mistakenly wrote 'UK' but should have written 'HMS Bambara', Trincamalle, Ceylon. I only came across this fine website today while looking at Dad's war record. I can see him in the photo taken during inspection at Greenock, second row, and the first face that is partly hidden by the man in front but I'm sure it's Dad ( my wife agrees ! ) his high cheekbones and deep eye sockets are unmistakeable ! Thank you so much for all your hard work. I will be making a donation. My Granddad 'Gordon Keith Paddock' also know as 'Paddy' was on the HMS Vengeance in 1945 where he joined the 11th Aircraft Carrier Squadron of the Pacific Fleet for the invasion of Japan. Do you know if there are any Crew still around today and if they are getting together this year for a Reunion?, my Grandma and I would love to catch up with any old crew members still with us.
