How Did You Find Me?: Word of Mouth
Comments: My husband was taken on a visit to Letterkenny aged approx 8yrs in the 1950's, by his father Stephen and taken to see his Great-grandfather's (who had same name) gravestone at Gartan and the area of the former family land at Kilmore. Bernard's father died many years ago and we had v. little information, but on a visit in 2012, we were helped by staff at the Registrar's and the Library who told us about your site etc. and eventually found the gravestone. Bye for now, Eileen

Comments: I have appreciated your wonderful information as I search for my family roots. I have one person in particular that I think might be a key. He is mentioned in your "All Saints" Resources in the Index of Wills for the Diocese of Raphoe. His name is Alexander McIntire, All Saints, 1803. I will be traveling to Ireland in May and was wondering if you knew where the original Presbyterian Kirk session books were held? It is my understanding that they are held locally. I found the one's in Burt, Donegal but I'm having a little trouble locating All Saints. Any information you can give me will be appreciated! Thank you very much! Lorrie

Comments: I have been searching for a long time to find where in Donegal, my Gillespie ancestors came from. They left during the famine in 1847 & settled in Pottsville, PA, USA. I believe I made a find thru the Tithe Aplotment book & Peter Gillespie & family came from Killybegs. Four of us plan to visit Killybegs/Donegal in early October. Any thoughts on creating any Gillespie connectivity during our visit? Thank you for what you do. A great service.eer

Comments: I am the great granddaughter of the following: Anthony Craig and Nancy McGrenra, and Danny McConnell and Sarah McMonagle. My grandmother was Bridget Craig and my grandfather was Jeremiah McConnell. I have been researching my family since 1995 when I made a trip to Letterkenny with my Mom and daughter. I have almost all the names & birthdates of my great aunts and uncles, as well as added all the current information as possible. The descendents in New Jersey USA have been a great help. If I notice names of my relatives that should be on your lists,is it possible to get them added? Thank you Jacqueline Rose Chin (Scott, McConnell, Craig)
