I retired in 2001 from a 24 year career as Welding Engineer/Instructor for Miller Electic Mfg. Co in Appleton, WI. Without giving a ton of details, I would like to address a serious subject: PROSTATE CANCER. Yes I have it with a Gleason score of 8(agressive). The good news-- Im being treated with a new to the United States procedure on June 2. It is called HIFU(High Intensity Focused Ultrasound). A wonderful Urologist, Dr Wheeler from Sarasota, FL is certified on this machine and will do the non-invasive cure for cancer in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Until clinical trials are completed, and FDA gives approval, no procedures can be done in the US. Over 6000 successful treatments have been done in Europe. Dr. Wheeler also has an expensive(but non-invasive procedure) called MRI-S(spectrocsopy), that can detect cancer doing a traditional needle biopsy. Unfortunately, I found out about this machine after I had had an ultrasound/biopsy done here in Rhinelander. I could go on and on with details and testimonials--- but I will close for now. I was an emplo0yee of the "Ceylon Herald"in 1957, working as a printer for Frank and Marie Uhlig. My family and I came to Minnesota from Germany in early March of 1957. A couple weeks later, my sponsor, Bill Mickelson (Fairmont Sentinel) found me my first job in Ceylon. I remained working there for about 5 months, but the paper had trouble getting enough advertising. So I left and worked in Elmore for 8-1/2 years, then moved to southern California, where we lived for over 28 years. Now I'm retired and live in Utah.
