All the Assembly themes are about Lifeboats and as a child I spent a lot of time at Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby (I dont get there as much as I would like now but it still remains a firm favourite of mine and my childrens.) I remember the story about the lifeboat men who pulled the boat from whitby in the snow and wanted to tell the children the story. Thank you for making it so easy to do. Comments: Many years ago was in a bakery in westcliff-on-sea (Essex)UK and saw a Sutcliffe calendar hanging behind the counter - instantly fell in love with the prints, and contacted the flour mill which 'sponsored' the calendar, they kindly sent me it foc! Comments: Loved Franks work after I found a book about his work years back when I was doing my 4 year photography course...I even wrote an assignment on him during my course...(I'm now retired) I always remember him describing the photo he took of a farmer with his new boots on...The farmer couldn't keep his head still as the long exposure took place, the result was that the end print had no head on the image...but the farmer was not at least perturbed because his new boot turned out beautifully in the print.I always was envious of his stunning images , as a professional photographer with a fixed professional schedule of shots I worked so far from the artistic photography I really loved. Franks work has such beautiful composition..Intersection of thirds..the golden mean..formal and informal composition.his prints hold one captivated..
