I know there is obviously some history but only a few islolated buildings. London for example must have been incredible prior to 1666. I would like to visit Whitby and Durham at some point in the future. I particularly want to visit the ruined abbey. I used to be married to a Whitby lad (he passed awaya)and I used to spend about 6 wks. or more a year in Whitby. I also used to bring about 70 Dutch students of a teacher's college there on excursion so I know the area very well. I'm writing some stories on it now. Do you have any more tales about the graves. My girlfriend used to say you could see where the pirates had been buried by the blue flames hovering above them. Any stories you could give me I'd appreciate. Ive heard so much about Whitby through her books I had to google it to read a bit about it. I have previously lived in London for 2 years and am due to come back to the UK in a month or so so will definately be visiting Whitby. Looks like a great place for travel etc. Guess considering Captain James Cook was meant to have founded NZ we have something in common.
