I have found some really great and useful information. I am developing a series of children's books and I needed make sure that my facts were accurate. I read about Pete losing his tailfeathers and you said that some peacocks lose their tailfeathers in about 2 or three days. I have several questions regarding this process. 1 - Do their new tail featheres actually push out the old? 2 - How long do their tail feathers take to grow back? 3 - Are the peahens of age to lay eggs during this time or are they too young. 4 - What other parts of their bodies are actually losing feathers at that time? 5 - What is the term for the actual process? If you have the time, I would really appreciate if if you can answer these questions, I want to be as accurate as possilbe. Thank you very much!
