Comments: I lived in Yealmpton until i was 9 years old. I'm now 33 but always think of it as 'my' village. I have kids of my own now and always think of Yealmpton as the ideal for own my kids- not that living in the US is really akin to living there. The picture of the old train station made me smile. My parents owned a cafe there called vera's cafe I was born in the house part then taken to hospital. Comments: I found your site after purchasing a Sony SL-F30UB Betamax recorder on ebay. I do not know if the recorder is working and have yet to try to view any tapes. I was looking for a manual to help me to set the machine up. Having inherited a pile of old recordings from my partner/soulmate who prior to our relationship was heavily involved in the recording of both music and video for the television/pop industry, I have been trying to increase what little knowledge I have on the Betamax format in order to try to view the tapes some of which I was told contain original unseen material. Most of the equipment used by my partner was stolen during a break in so I have been hunting for a Sony Betamax video player on ebay but wa always outbid until now. I have added your page to my favourites as at some future date I may return for further help or maybe to pass on some equipment I do not need. In the meantime I will try to digest the information I have gleaned for which I am most grateful.
