Comments: My uncle John Hammond was a Lt. Commander and chaplain aboard the Cabot and attended the reunion for many years until he died in September 2005 at age 84. He had many wonderful stories about the friends he served with and looked forward each year to attending the reunion to see them. He was so proud they put the bridge of the Cabot in the US Naval museum in Pensacola. I loved seeing all the photos he had taken during the war and thereafter at the reunions.
He is greatly missed!!

Comments: I made six carqual T.O.s and Landings on the USS Cabot on 2 June 1950.

This event completed my flight training in Pensacola. I have a great flight deck picture of all of us that qualified to become a Naval Aviators that day.

This was a very happy day and a wonderful memory.
