We met on the Ellinis in 1973 and have been married for 28 years. We live in Tanzania. Colin is retired but works with street children. My voyage commenced June 6, 1966 (6/6/66) and arrived Southampton around July 7, 1966. I know that if I look around at home I still have some memorabilia buried somewhere.I certainly have a couple of photos of the musical we produced (South Pacific, what else, and oter stuff like menus etc. This site has certainly brought back a lot of memories for me. Comments: Ken I read an article in the Avertiser Newspaper about your site and became interested, as I sailed on the Australis from Southampton to Sydney waaay back in 1967 as a 22 yo immigrant to OZ ,probable before you joined her ?. Comments: With my wife Jennifer and two very young daughters we were due to depart Southampton on Thursday April 12 1973,however the departure was delayed and we eventually sailed at just past midnight on Friday the 13th a few people were superstitious but there was no need to be as the journey south was fantastic. How good do you think this site is: Well done!!! Comments: I came to Australia on the Australis in 1969. I was 4 going on 5. It was an adventure and one I have always treasured. I just decided one day to do a search on it and your site was a pleasant surprise. I remember the sound of the gongs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I remember the swimming pool. I remember the friends (kinda). The lady who looked after us in the kindegartin part I later saw when I was 9 year on the Britanis. During my trip I had the misfortune of splitting my skull in a fall and I remember some steward rushing me to the doctors and blood going everywhere. A strange memory.
