How good do you think this site is: Looks great! Comments: I went to England on Voyage 49 North that left Melbourne on May 7th 1975.. Even after all this time I still have vivid memories of the 5 or so weeks we had on board and I'm pleased to say that I keep in touch with a couple of people I met on board. It was a fantastic time to travel...I shudder to think how lax the security was in those days...I know of several stowaways..one went from Sydney to Acapulco!...several obviously had a few too many drinks when we left Melbourne and had to wait until we berthed in Sydney a couple of days later...try explaining that to your boss! Sad to see the wreck of the ship now...The Australis still brings back many great memories... Australis from March 1977 – October 1977. I saw your recent update dated 22-03-04. I remember John McAleer’s family. His sisters Noeleen , Mary and brother Jim. John probably won’t remember me at all. I do have fond memories of friendships made with Noeleen and also Mary. I would like to get in touch with John or with his sisters. How good do you think this site is: Well done!!! Comments: I was on Voyage 52 to Southampton 1976 in cabin 1249 an eight birth on D deck.I had a fantastic time that I will never forget.
