I would like to respond to his comments using some scripture then expound upon them a little. Comments: I love your content. I am a "fallen away Catholic" who believes everything you have said about the Catholic Cult. Great Job. I also loved your material about the 1st Century Church. I do not believe that age of miracles died with the last apostle. We are not faithful enough for God to truly bless us as he did the First Church. How good do you think this site is: Well Done!!! Comments: Actually find this a most beautiful Site! Very interesting, inventive, and having spent some time with Callie, find this to be one of the most complete Scriptural Sites I've found on the Net! Thanks a great deal for your creation and hard work. Together with you I praise Yahweh, our wondrous Creator, and will certainly continue to make this Site a visiting place for more information and blessings. Thanks as well for your Scriptural identification of Catholicism as the largest Cult on the face of the planet today: among so-called believers, that is. 147 Fri December 07 2001 - 17:27:56 Fullname: David Yeubanks Email: Nobody777@hotmail.com Where are you from?: Kennewick, WA Reference: Just Surfed On It! How good do you think this site is: Looks nice Comments: Hi. I really enjoyed my visit to your page. You have some great articles and I can't wait to spen more time reading! I do have a couple of constructive criticisms though to offer... One is that I really enjoyed the page on TheoPhostic Counseling. I agree with your position and have had many concerns about this method of "Christian" counseling myself (as it is now being accepted in my own church); however, my concern is that your articles often state things like, "the Bible does not teach this," or "this is completely against the Bible," or "this is opposite of what the Bible teaches," etc. but the problem is you don't then state what the Bible actually says, i.e. chapter and verse from the Bible. The reader is largely expected to just take your word for it, which is the predominant claim you are making against the teachers of some of these destructive doctrines creeping into the Church. In my opinion, you should not assume that people know what the Bible teaches; TEACH THE BIBLE SO THEY KNOW. Ok, that's point number one. :) Point number two is minor by comparison. I also read your page on Harry Potter. Again, I agree with much of what you stated; however, I do think Christians are over-hyping this thing. Christians act like stories and movies about witchcraft targeted to younger audiences are something new, but they are not. There is also an inconsistent logic among most Christians about these types of things. For example many Christians have no problem with books like The Chronicles of Narnia by Christian author C.S. Lewis, although this series frequently uses themes of magic, witchcraft and fantasy to tell its story. Many Christians have no problem with Disney movies or delightful fairytale stories such as Cinderella or Snow White, yet these also involve witchcraft and sorcery. And as far as witchcraft being a "new" phenomenon in the entertainment industry, it's also just not true. For example the old TV show, "Bewitched," or the old Disney movie, "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," and any host of films, plays, books, games and TV shows from the last few decades. I am not saying this should be pointed out to condone Harry Potter... not at all. I am just saying that as long as we are in the world these things will abound. Our focus must be stayed on the truth and ministering that truth. If we know the truth we will not accept the lies. The last comment I wanted to make was that the image background on your main page makes things a little "busy" looking and hard to read. And for the articles, black text on a white background always looks best, is easier to read and looks more professional. Now all criticism aside, God bless you and keep up the good work in preaching the truth! Amen! :) 148 Sun December 02 2001 - 11:17:10 Fullname: Allan Svensson Email: allan-sv@algonet.se Where are you from?: Sweden Reference: Just Surfed On It! You have a good teaching of Speaking in Tongues, by Jeff Kieffer. I have also written about this on my Web Site. Please, read these articles: 23. I was listening to the Hope Lutheran Church of Mpls MN whe he had a guest speaker on to talk about The Harry Potter Craze now in books and in the movies. Just the very short images I have seen of this new fad going through out the country gave me a very cold shoulder so as not to buy, promote or even encourage my friends, family to endulge in this. My granchild said it best when the subject was brought up over thanksgiving "MY GRAMMA SAID THIS BOY IS A BAD PERSON AND NO-ONE SHOULD WATCH HIM DO NAUGHTY THINGS" 150 Sun November 25 2001 - 19:58:39 Fullname: Dennis Allen Briggs (Gad) Email: deallen@theendbygod.com Where are you from?: Tennessee (USA) Reference: Just Surfed On It!
