Like everywhere else, there has been a slowdown in publishing in France and the horror market is not what it was even a few years ago. But I will let you know when it is due for publication in French. 393 Thu November 01 2012 - 16:51:12 Fullname: Dominic Email: Comments: Good Day Graham! I was wondering if THE RED HOTEL was translated in french. If so, what is the french title ? I've been looking for it at my local library but they dont seem to have any copy, unless they already sold everything they had ! Thanx Graham! Best to you! 394 Thu November 01 2012 - 15:21:44 Fullname: Campbell Milton Email: boucaria@inbox.com Comments: Thanks. As odd as it sounds I am glad I am not alone on the kindle issue. Anyway, I am changing my view on kindle prints if the books are out of print and all I can get is an edition from some Charlie who wants over 1,000 dollars ( US or AUS :-), anyway, my suggestion is, would you consider a kind of Kindle Card for each edition that you charge a fee for signing and mailing? As a kind of compromise to the e-book which cannot be signed ( plus it would be a great book mark if laminated ). Anyway, I know I would pay, and you could do it by a code in the Kindle, maybe [?], and purchase from there ? Also, are your stories in the collections coming out in chapbooks from Cemetary Pub ? ( Shivers, and Rock ). I have not checked to see if the cemetary Dance issues are signed. But, I'll be glad to get the stories in any format. I am looking forward greatly to the next Jim Rook, and I hope I can get other books you have out as well ( like the "Mirror" PB edition i bought with Two Covers(double cover on one book)... I think I have 3 paperbacks there. If you could have Doug Bradley read one of your books, which book would you like him to read? I like his reading of Mr B'Gone by Clive Barker ( or, if you would not like him reading your books, just say not suitable... well, I am sure you can say something more diplomatic than me :-) Thanks 395 Thu November 01 2012 - 09:32:38 Fullname: Graham Masterton Email: Comments: Thanks for your comments, Campbell. I am very gratified that you enjoy my books so much. Plenty more on the way! Many readers have told me that they are not all that keen on Kindle books, but ebooks have enabled me to re-publish many of my backlist books which I would not have been able to bring out in print -- such as THE DOORKEEPERS and many of my sex instruction books. So although Kindles don't feel and smell like "real" books, they do give you access to titles which otherwise might not have been available. 396 Tue October 30 2012 - 13:33:05 Fullname: Campbell Milton Email: boucaria@inbox.com Comments: Thanks. I hope all goes well with what you do. I got the kindle story since I wanted your Halloween story to succeed/go well ( whatever is the best expression :-). Anyway, I mention the audio books because the reader of the content makes a big difference. A reader I have who makes a text very accessible is Alfred Molina ( my opinion), and the content was not the greatest. Keith Richards had a great Bio which I read with a great deal of enjoyment, and when I found out that Johnny Depp was doing the audio book as well, it added so much; they had Keith, Johnny, and one other guy who covered different periods. I just got the abridged version of I AM OZZY, and a british comic read the abridgd version, but the selling point for me was that Ozzy was interviewed on the last disk. I have another spooky audio book where the content is good, but the reader is, in my view, abysmal, so I have been finding that the reader makes a difference. One lengthy audio book I have has reasonably good content, but the reader kills the reading, and this is a product of 37 discs, so, it is more than one days worth of reading. Anyway, just my opinion, but I love your books, and the prospect of audio books is basically great. I am not a fan of Kindle items, however, if the items are readable by reading software, I may enjoy it. i know I want to get older copies, and if I can get the kindle editions and it is "readable" by the software like Dragon Dictate etc, its a bonus. I am still someone who like to buy Hardback books ( My wife is a librarian :-) ) and whilst she likes Mayan, Incan, and lots by Michael Coe, she is not big on my Fave Author; She razzes me about the Sex manuals that come up on a search on your name :-). Which is fine. I better cut this short, I will buy what I can; Thanks again. I hope you do well, and any films or TV options would be great, but I love the books, Horror, Chaos Theory, the Chapbooks, and my memories ( yup, I am a broken record ). Cheers. 397 Mon October 29 2012 - 17:49:34 Fullname: Graham Masterton Email: Comments: Thanks for your kind words, Campbell. I will give you more news about the audio books when I get it myself. Although they will not be coming out from Cemetery Dance, and I am confident that they will very high quality and will not be abridged. It is a little early to have figures on THE PRESS, but all of the ebooks that I now have available from Amazon Kindle and Bloomsbury Reader and other sources are doing very well. It's gratifying to see the sex books out in "print" again...I have already had some very positive responses to those. I think the Night Warriors book you are talking about is NIGHT PLAGUE, which features the Scottish witch Isobel Gowdie. 398 Mon October 29 2012 - 15:23:35 Fullname: Campbell Milton Email: boucaria@inbox.com Comments: I finally got to download the Croydon radio interview, and thanks, an excellent 90 minutes. Also, I purchased the e-book The Press, which I enjoyed ( any info on how many "copies" have been sold through e-book ? ). The audio books you have coming out are great, and I hope they are unabridged of course. Are your new items coming out through cemetary Dance ( the Hard Backs) ? Hopefully these will come through Amazon, but whichever way I can get it here. I am still chasing a copy of 1996 Dream Warriors with the Witch who travels through time ( thus far I have found copies that is a little above my price range ). I have asked Matt to post the picture in the News section. The house doesn't look like much from the road but it is built on a very steep hill and is actuslly four stories high (the windows you can see are on the third floor). 402 Thu October 25 2012 - 20:40:12 Fullname: Matt Williams Email: Comments: Just added the covers of two recently published Polish versions of Graham's books - Fire Spirit and Unspeakable - to the news page. 403 Thu October 25 2012 - 19:10:39 Fullname: Graham Masterton Email: Comments: It happens all the time, Bruce. Most of the time we don't notice it. I complained in a restaurant last night because my son's steak has gristle in it. Today in my crossword one of the clues was "Cook -- no learner -- set grill for rubbery piece of meat" Answer: gristle. There are undercurrents in this world of which we wot not of, to be Shakespearean. 404 Thu October 25 2012 - 14:40:19 Fullname: Bruce Thomas Email: Comments: Regarding coincidences...In Portrait of Evil Vincent's ex wifes beau is named Bruce and his son is named Thomas.
