Comments: Thank you, Ruth. Glad you enjoyed it. And thank you, Matt.

If you speak reasonable Polish, you might enjoy this interview on ONTV with my friend Robert Cichowlas about UNSPEAKABLE, recently published in Poland under the title NIEMY STRACH.

Comments: The new Jim Rook novel, Garden of Evil is terrific, Ruth. But bittersweet in a few ways I won't mention! Enjoy :)

Comments: Hey Graham, I just finished The Red Hotel and I wanted to let you know that I loved it. The first book in ages that I couldn't put down. Now I just have to wait for your new Jim Rook novel to come out.

Comments: It's not uncommon for small children to see imaginary people, Jim. Their minds can create figures out of shadows and shapes and they are not experienced enough to be able to think that, logically, there couldn't be a woman standing in the corner of his room. Even adults suffer from this sometimes, when they see a dressing-gown hanging on the back of a door at night, or a jacket slung over a chair. All you can do is explain this to him in the simplest terms and also switch on the light and show him that there is nobody there. If there really IS a woman in the corner of his room, perhaps you've been giving him too much pocket money and he's been spending it on local floozies.

Comments: Hello Graham
Any advice on this one? The other night, my 4 year old son got up at 4am and came into our bedroom. I told him it wasn't 'getting up time' yet and to go back to his bed. He said he couldn't. I asked him why, and he said, 'There's a lady in the corner of my bedroom'.
Ulp!

Comments: I can't remember writing THE MANITOU in Spanish, but obviously I must have done. Perhaps I was pissed at the time on Spanish wine.

Comments: KR, when he was a little kid, Vincent Pearson used to imagine he was in the Amazons and he was the lost white chief of the Ugarugah tribe.

Comments: I have not read RITUAL, so that's my excuse for not getting #4. I don't have much of an excuse for the others, although I remember most of them upon being reminded, but I do need someone to explain #2 to me. I don't remember that one.

Comments: Congratulations Lars! That elusive Otto had me stumped as well, but unlike you, I wasn't eventually able to answer that single question right.
Shame on me though, as Walkers belong to one my favorites.

Comments: Thanks Bruce. My eyes were really tired after scanning for Otto in all my books. I found 3 different Otto characters before finding the correct one. I really need to get stronger reading glasses after this.

Comments: ...and the winner of the festive contest is Lars-Ove Karlsson, from Sweden, who answered all six questions correctly.

The answers were:

1: The graveyard in Granitehead in THE PARIAH.

2: Vincent Pearson in FAMILY PORTRAIT.

2: The military operation to place demons in tanks in THE DEVILS OF D-DARY.

4: Eric Broussard in RITUAL because he wore a wide-brimmed hat to keep his cigarettes dry.

5: Otto in WALKERS used divining rods to trace escaped maniacs.

6: Pieces of the devil were contained in safety-deposit boxes in the Divine Hotel in MIRROR.

Lars-Ove wins a hardback firstedition of THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT plus a New Year's bonus of another signed book of his choice. Congratulations...and my thanks and commiserations to all those who entered but didn't quite manage to get every answer right.
